I noticed you did not mention punitive damages being divided up between the plaintiff and his attorney. Is that a touchy subject among lawyers? Individuals and corporations are entitled to compensatory awards, but not punitive awards IMO. Punishment should only be dished out by the state, not individuals.

One other point. The defendant doesn't give a dam who gets the punitive award, the plaintiff or the state. The plaintiff and his attorney care VERY MUCH.
