I like Maxtor drives, since I've owned 8+ and never had one fail. Plus I've been able to get important details like Head/Cyl/Jumper configuration anytime via their toll free number (and now the web). I do almost all computer work at odd times, like New Years day or 10pm Saturday, when normal channels aren't available. I've been using Maxtor drives exclusively since 1991.

I'm close to becomming a WDC long too. Other than Oil and Precious Metals, I don't see many sectors out of favor as much as the DD mfgs.

My understanding is MXTR buys heads from RDRT, though they may use multiple suppliers.
