Sorry to burst your world, but the study involved blue chip companies
like IBM, GE, Gillete, Coke as the higher priced stocks. Not a speculative stock like Ballard that can move 20 points in a day.

If a $.10 stock moved .05 thats a 50% move. Of course its more volatile. Do the math.

It's amazing people got paid to do studies like this.
It ranks up there with predictions on how high the DJIA is going.
The analysts change there predictions monthly to make the estimates
more accurate. And if the market goes bad they can change their predictions to reflect the new mood in the market.

>>>I think your world is a little bit wacked.

Several studies have shown that there is a direct relationship
between a stocks price and its beta. Lower priced stocks are
typically more volatile.

Sorry to burst your world :-).<<<

Well if Ballard at current prices is a good thing buy more.
Or is it too risky for you to buy now? At $10 Ballard could
only drop $10. At $160 Ballard can drop $160. In my world
the investment risk is higher at $160.

Invest $1.000 into a stock at $10, same amount into a stock at $160. Both base at $0. What's the difference? Risk is not in share price, but in your own capital: Falling from $1000 to $0. (Remarks aimed at the original poster, not you, Meghan.)

What does weigh more: one kilogram of iron or one kilogram of feathers? :-)
