Thus was birthed the concept of e-mail forums ... now we have a number of them, but as in most stuff, ol' Wacko was out there! Many have come and gone but his Wackiness prevails ... also we have seen a lot of our good participants here start up their own excellent newsletters ... the Phantom, the SH Gurus, Roger Perry & The Right Line, Whistling Billy & Jim Rupp (Whistle Stop), Mark Johnson, Trader Alert...

[bilius gonius]

SAND was researched by our own Ken Babcock, who did a site visit, and he believed the company was fundamentally trading far beneath its value ... and said so.

IRI is a Nevada corp. founded in Sept. 1996 by Gary Cella, a financial
consultant and registered broker, who is also Executive Director of the Institute, Kenneth A. Babcock, a financial website publisher, industrial hygienist and computer consultant, who is an officer of NCC, and Gayle Essary, an electronic publisher and management consultant, who is also an officer of NCC. IRI is an operating company and has supported its development to date with revenues from fees and sales.

[handius hottestus]
There are also resumes for Gary Cella, Kenneth Babcock and Gayle Essary. These should be read carefully before deciding that any of us have the slightest inkling of what we're doing <g>.

==== I've gotta million of 'em.

Alright Ken, I'm back watching a little "tube", feeling a little mellowed out from a couple of tropical libations, and ready to relate my tale.... <wink>

Back in my wilder stock-chasing days, I was a big fan of a certain company which planned on presenting in NYC at the World Trade Center. I was invited to attend by their investor relations firm on May 1st, 1996.

While attending this event, I made personal acquaintance with, one Gayle Essary, and one Kenneth Babcock, who both attended it as well.
While nothing in particular stands out, I recalled that I was trying to figure out the quickest route on them gall-darn NY subways and Ken offered to direct me to Brooklyn Heights where I was staying with a relative. I believe that we spent much of the time discussing the difficulties he was facing in setting up the Netcapital website.. etc until he hit his stop.

Ken struck me as a rather nice fellow and I have no reason to suspect he was part of any unscrupulous activities. As for SAND, we all know how easy it is for us to perform due diligence to our hearts content, yet have that fail to be enough in the final analysis. I never purchased any of that stock, but I remember when it was recommended on the WK forum.

Seems to be heading back for where it was at the time of the recommendation from reviewing the chart. Oh well... :0)

Again, it is not illegal to be wrong in picking a stock which fails to live up to expectations. However, if "our favorite journalist" (OFJ, for short from now on... :0), is indeed guilty of faxing a press release that he authored to GIFS for them to distribute, I suggest that someone is in some serious trouble.

And it ain't me.

Regards,

Ron
