Peter, Well said and I couldn't agree more. I've always felt that these types of threads should be looked at differently than say the regular stock threads. More latitude should be given towards the posts. It's not like we come here for some valuable information about a company or something. We pretty much come here to debate and discuss, poke fun, and try and talk a little. A far cry from the stock threads. The only things that should be taboo to me is a gross use of profanities or obscenities and a purposeful destruction of the thread. Like posting 100 times in a row or something. Other than that opinions and sensibilities should be left alone. If you don't like the discussion or debate, or one of the posters. Simply tune out for a few days and it's likely they will have moved on. Do words and idea's really bother people that much?? It's a symptom of this whole sociological victim thing. Sadly pathetic stuff IMO. I really don't remember Flynn's posts that well, but I'm sure if they were truly that offensive I would have. Michael

Well, I for one thoroughly enjoyed James Flynn's posts. They were extremely creative, with plenty of shock appeal for those of us who enjoy that. I am very sorry that they are gone, as I wanted to read them again. Did anyone copy and save any of them? He wrote a poem which may have offended some Christians over at the poetry thread, as I recall. He seemed to be outrageous in somewhat the same way that the dearly missed John Galt was, and Johnny was kicked off SI as well.But we really have no idea who might have complained. Does someone who did want to step forward and discuss your rationale, perhaps? All I can suggest is that everyone write to the webmistress if you have not already done so, and express your opinions to her. Christine
