Since 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes are specificall mentioned, God must have choosen them before the destruction of the ancient Israelite nation as a people. This occurred in 70 A.D. when the Temple and the Old Covenant religion were destroyed. I believe the 144,000 are those men of faith throughout the history of ancient Israel up to the Apostles and disciples who were used to preserve the faith of Abraham and finally establish the Body of Christ--the Christian Church--and bringing the faith of Abraham to the whole world . God was always looking for those who had the faith of Abraham. There were prophets and holy men in every generation who had the faith of Abraham. The Apostles and early disciples had the faith of Abraham. These early Jewish Apostles fulfilled the prophecies concern the Jews spreading the Gospel about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and evangelizing the whole world. The Body of christ is built up with Jesus as the chief corner stone, with the Apostles and Prophets as the foundation and the 144,000 forming the first tier of the Body. It is upon Jesus, the Apostles, Prophets and these other 144,000 men of faith that Jesus built His Church.

Bob, I see it represents 12,000 from each tribe fo the Children of Israel but what I never understood is if it's just a figurative number? They are sealed, but from what? From the wrath of the anti-christ? If this were so then that means they are being protected during the great tribulation. Many believe that Christ's people will not face the tribulation. Your thoughts please. -Chris

Dear Bob, You will see now that they will not acknowledge that there is one good word about the Jews in the future. See they can sin up a storm everyday and the poor Jews that are dieing for them to have received this gift will go to hell and they are still pointing out their stumbling. I don't see where Alan and I have ever said that there is salvation in anything but the Lord Yeshua and they can not see that they are reading things into what was said as they have from Alans first post. There was not a kind word to Alan as Jane and I witnessed as did others. How can they give the Good News with these attitudes. Personally I have no respect for their (Emile and Chris) words at this point. I am a very teachable person other than them they have discredited their testimony to me. So can we talk about something else? We finally had a warm sunny, bird singing spring day today and I had to work all day:( I thought this week that He pronounced woes on the religous leaders (teachers) and helped the prostitue and the adultress with tenderness, He is kind and loving and gentle in Spirit and it upsets me for Him to be portrayed otherwise.
