Stockman:

<<Once the Celeron 266 is released next month for about $150, The 1 or 2 of AMD's K6-266 from their lab will have to be sold at a price below $100.>>

What does the Celeron do for you? A castrated PII system is a computer without any L2 cache. This is worst than a Pentium MMX system. I would be surprised if Compaq and IBM refused to build a system around the Celeron. By the way Brian just posted an article stating that the K6 computers outsold the PII. Compared to a year ago when you were bitching that AMD couldn't sell K6 to tier 1, AMD is doing a terrific job. Now that you are bitching that AMD is not making any money. A year from now you will be bitching that you losed all your money shorting AMD and should have bought some AMD.

SrockMan - Re: "AMD does not have a 300Mhz chip!!!"

Yes they DO!

AMD has been shipping these for some time maintaining secrecy and a low profile - aimed at lulling Intel into complacency.

CyberMAX may be offering their K6-300 notebook computers any day now - much to the surprise of Intel.
