IDX is not in the finance business. The most likely scenerio is that IDX sells the equipment to a 3rd party who takes legal title and then leases the equipment to the JV. IDX records a sale on their books for the goods, the JV records the lease payments and depending on the way it is structured will take depreciation on the units. I can't see the finance company wanting the equipment so it will most likely include a bargain purchase price at the end.

Re Sylvan JV lease -

I think Ed and Brad did a good job of explaining the economics of the 3P lease. Identix will record the sales as sales in the quarter the machines are transferred to the 3P.

Are you or Dave H. interested in attending the Card Tech Secure Tech Show in Washington in late April? Maybe we can talk to Allen & Caron or IDX about getting you temporary passes.
