You know I said as much to her in another post. I even wondered, just a stray thought, if she was working for the S-man. She really couldn't do a better job of turning most people off to Christianity. The best apostles for Christianity I have met are the people who don't talk about it, but live it. Of course one can tell what they are, but they don't have the insecure need to shout about it. And they really do a lot of good, when they are kind, compassionate and non-judgmental (which is what the teachings of Jesus are all about, or at least that is what I get out of it). Old testament- different story/different God.

Bill, I have said many times that while I occasionally rail against the intolerance some Christians practice, and some of the damage and pain and death Christianity has caused historically and politically, anything which provides comfort to an individual is beneficial.

When I jokingly suggested a return trip to the Ask God thread, I was speaking with the intent of speaking against the intolerance and hatred that is sometimes espoused there, not simply to ridicule all Christian beliefs.

Someone has brainwashed Jane very badly. I would like to be able to get through to her, although I am pretty sure I will not be able to do so. She has occasionally expressed tolerance towards people she actually knows in the real world, but almost immediately goes back into a very polarized belief system I cannot comprehend.
