Morning---belated---my son messed with my computer last night and when I got up this morning early--my special posting time -I HAD NO MODEM. You can imagine my frustration. So I went to the grocery store at 7 AM, with no make-up and my hair standing on end, just to indicate how truly distraught I was. My family must live in terror of me. WHen I returned there was a fresh pot of coffee, the computer was ready, and they made me sit down while they put the groceries away... I certainly have done something right. And the reading from last night was so entertaining! Wish I'd been here. Well-I was here-but we were watching some show about whether there was a government conspiracy behind the assassination of MLK or something. As usual, I slept through a lot of it, so may not get this exactly accurate. Some lawyer named Pepper said the Green Beret behind the plot was murdered, but NBC brought him back from the dead-or from Costa Rico- which made Pepper look pretty silly-plus now he's being sued, because this guy is not happy about being dead. Then the King family said LBJ was behind it. How gullible do they think I am? You know someone would have noticed the president walking around Memphis with a rifle! Then Andrew Young said that he didn't think James Earl Ray did it because Ray was just so pitiful. Which is certainly how I ascertain guilt or innocence, don't you? ("Hmm-not pitiful enough-must be guilty") When I woke up, I decided that I think even if Ray is dying of liver disease and exudes a very high degree of pitiful, which he certainly does, he's still guilty, because LBJ is dead, which is as pitiful as it gets, and so he can't be guilty. Maybe it was Lady Bird? Aren't you glad that I watched the show while you played so I could report on it and keep you au courant ? I thought so.
