<<Mohan could you please keep me in mind if Orbital get a contract with Teledesic>>

No strong likelihood of this other than for the test launches. The systems engineering for Teledesic is being done by a company called DRG (Deskin Research Group), privately held unfortunately. On the T1 test satellite Orbital supplies the satellite bus which is based on their MicroStar bus as used in Orbocomm, the production T-sats however will be larger and presumably based on a different bus.

The other thing is that among competing systems the consensus seems to be that Teledesic will clean up in satellite provision of internet access, although at this stage, with several hundred satellites to be launched, and none of the systems proven, the outcome is anyones guess.

I agree that Orbital will certainly have a role in "constellation maintenance" owing to their flexibility and low cost of single launch vehicle, even if they are not the cheapest in $ per lb into orbit.

Kind Regards

Nig
