Thanks Walt: As always a very interesting read., I saw as well an
interesting event on PBS. It was a concert group from S. Africa.,
a segment of the show featured all male dancers., these guys were
doing this dance routine., what was strange is that they were all
wearing knee high rubber boots., dancing., slapping their hands.,
against the thighs., and rubber boots. Something inside clicked.,
being the diamond demon that I am., I thought well these guys must
be miners. Well., when the show was done., and PBS does their donation hitch., the moderator said that the rubber boots represented
the boots diamond miners in S. Africa wear to prevent the diamonds
from cutting their feet. Hence the term coined in Paul Simons S. African tour "Diamonds on the soles of her feet."

Anyway., here is to a year around road to Yellowknife., I think that
you and I ought to add another event to the games in Yellowknife.,
how about racing the triangle that Chuck talks about. We could
do it on snowmachines., or an dog sleds. heck if they keep finding
diamond pipes we could develope some condos overlooking our
deposits., yea the ultimate security blanket. In our spare time we could bore a few holes out in the back 40 and look for kimberlite.
Better yet when the tourist comes up the road from yellowknife we
could give them a guided tour and use the egg timer with the diamond
dust and mini macros as souveniors. The Dash 7 areo., carry a much
smaller payload vs. a Hercules. We have a one of the US Armys
Galacys fly in once a year for the air show., what a humongous bird.,
the payload capacity must be huge.
So here is to the future., toll roads., diamonds., and preservation as
well to a great Northern Resource., the Arctic.and the toilers in search
of ice around the world.
