Babble "To talk foolishly"
..............................................
From reading many dram articles:

DRAM REVENUE
in Billions

1995 40.5
1996 25.1 -38%
1997 20.2 -20%
1998 23.0 +14%
..............................................
In 1995 4Meg FPM was the standard product.
By 1998 64Meg SDRAM is now the standard product.
..............................................
To get around talking about product,
let's look at total dram revenue.
In 1995 a Fab cost was 1B, so 40.5 supported 40 Fabs.
By 1998 a Fab cost is now 2B, so 23 now supports only 12 Fabs.
........................................................
Some how the dram sector has to increase revenue in order
to support the Fabs or the Fabs have to close.
