I know this co. is small peanuts compared to DCTC but I took it from the GLOW thread.. any competition here for the Canadian market? Just curious...

GLOW recently acquired 100% of ECS (Electronic Card Services, Inc.). ECS sells electronic cash cards accepted by major retailers and prepaid phone cards. Electronic cash cards will soon include access for prepaid cellular usage, chat lines, Internet access for travelers, and include applications that will function much the same way as a bank debit card. Initially, their market was Toronto, Canada. But ECS is now expanding throughout Canada and will enter US markets later in 1998.

George,

I interpretted Mr Murphy's scenario the same way KR did. I hope your read is correct that the "acquisition that was brought to DCTC" was to acquire DCTC but Mr. Murphy DID NOT SAY that. It was more reasonable to think it was another company being brought to DCTC to be acquired by DCTC.

In either case, the buying makes no sense. If the group were proposing to buy DCTC and bought shares in advance, THAT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL! That is why I doubt that is the scenario Mr. Murphy described.

Keep asking away. We might as well sort through all the BS so when the "high impact" wave hits, the coast is clear for a nice runup!!
