ed and nightwriter...as a matter of friendly investor discussion...the numbers mean nothing with out factoring...growth (and earnings expectation), operating and financial risks of each company

in that respect, CPQ is overvalued versus DELL, HWP, IBM relative their respective growth rates...do your calculations...but pls consider the above factors if you are going to rebut...btw, I know because I did the calculations

also, this has ntg to do with how stocks will move going forward

Good quantitative point. True, future earnings will modify
these or put them in perspective. However, these are facts and
future earnings are pure speculation (and we all know
how accurate these speculations are). I'm not great at
analyzing the future, but I'd still rather start with facts.
which definitely have bearing on their own without speculation
on future earnings, etc.
