Jane, it is obvious that Jesus didn't stay in Isreal during the 'lost years'. Think about it. From the time Jesus was a little boy arguing with the Temple Elders, to the time he was a grown man come back to gather his flock of disciples, no one knows where he was.

So, aside from the usual teenage rebellion, such as stealing his parents car, and making out with Suzy Rosenbalm behind the school gym, what was he doing?

When Jesus came back, his teachings were radically different from the norm of the day. Look at the Old Testament, then look at the New. You've got two different Gods there. The OT God was an angry and vengeful god, but the NT God (no, not Bill Gates) was a more loving and forgiving God. Jesus didn't learn this stuff in Isreal. It wasn't there to learn. Jesus was sucking up the ideas from the Eastern religions and combining them with his native beliefs.

Think about it, Jane. The only time people go away for many years and then don't talk about it is either:
1) Prison
2) Draft Dodging
3) Learning a new culture
