Carol, I think that in the freewheeling days of John Galt, there was more freedom of expression at SI. When he got kicked off, it really represented a sea change in what was acceptable here.

I guess I personally resent censorship that comes from religious people. We are all adults here, and if you don't like something, just push "Next" and read something you find more pleasing. This is sort of like the battle that is raging in America between the conservative, religious right and more liberal and open-minded people. James Flynn was very, very creative and I loved his posts.

I was under the impression that new guidelines were being established which would clarify SI policy. Is that still true? James Flynn's posts were avant garde, but they were definitely not about insulting or harassing another poster, which is what I thought was against the rules.
