"were Pharisees really Jesus' brothers?" Those who had the faith of Abraham were and accepted Jesus, those who didn't were "of their father the devil". Even today mankind is divided between those of Faith who accept Jesus and those "who are of their father the devil". Word studies in the original Greek and Hebrew and good and helpful, but they are not the code that opens up the meaning of the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit is the only code breaker. Without the Holy Spirit, mane cannot understand the Scritures. But understanding the Scriptures here is not really the point. Following the Scriptures is DCF's point and a very good one. We are all guilty. Those who are insulted by the truth and insulted by Scriptural teachings are not part of the grieved.
