The European monetary unit is causing aspiring member nations to finally start cleaning up their act. For example, Italy has been paying out social security benefits to people who have been dead for years. That is now being fixed...not by the Italians but by an external commission. I expect Europe to enter a growth phase. Deregulation will also, through competition, allow more and more people to get wired online, and you need to buy a computer to do that. The 200 million world wide PC users figure came out of the Conference that is going on over there. There's any number of news releases concerning the conference. I find it hard to believe that people who are capable of digging out the most esoteric information haven't read those news releases. E.H.F.
