ATTENTION ALL SHORT SELLERS

Please, please hold firm and do not cover your shorts this week unless absolutely necessary financially.

The principal reason for the relatively high price of MU is the 45 million shares short. There are 179 m shares in the MU "float" (available for the public to buy).Recently only 6 institutions/families owned more than 60% of those 179 m shares, including Fidelity through FMR (about 23 m shares) and the potato kings, the Simplots of Idaho. These institutions/families have stuck to their positions.

But Fidelity and the other major mutual fund holders will thin (sell) out their positions in the windowdressing ending 3/31. They do not wish to face criticism over large positions in MU.

Do not buy their shares. Let the price fall for all of us short sellers to benefit, including yourselves. If we resist the anxiety or private temptations to take profits we will see 25-27 by the week's end and 24-26 by the month's end.

So, please consider cancelling your 30+ limit buy orders or your market orders when the stock is near 30 AND WAIT!

David G;

It is tempting for me to say that DELL and GTW should see a negative impact near term. I'm not yet convinced of it. Indicators seem to point that way .. However, my first ouch in options was puts on GTW (took me a while to realize that most of the bear comments were from one poster .. hi SB)

It is entirely possible to see something like transfer of market share, in that area, from CPQ to DELL, or CPQ to GTW or CPQ to DELL and GTW.

In addition the glut of PII chips and the corresponding sharp price reductions may be entirely due to Intel overproduction .. but I don't think so. And in addition to that my old suppliers are spot market. Therefor slowdown in demand for the PII may just be in the spot market area .. but I don't think so.

For what it's worth ..
