You're not missing anything, but it will be hard to sell if the success rate is less than seismic -- and 92% seems a very high success rate.

However, another SI member has just pointed out to me that the figures I quoted pertain to drilling in established fields, probably well-explored with logged test wells. This increases the success probability.

To do wildcatting over large areas is quite another thing. 3D seismic is very good, but also very costly if it is to be applied to a large area. If emsounder has success in these types of applications, it could be competitive because of lower costs.
