Ref: SMOD & MMCN (Put this one on your 'watch-list')

Sam:
Thanks for the input on SMOD. The numbers looks impressive though recently Oppenheimer has lowered their earnings estimate for Q2-98 from .34 to .30) and for the year. Also Cowen & Co downgraded the stock from a 'Strong Buy' to just a 'Buy'.

Stock Price is off approx.50% from the high,PE looks reasonable,Stock is selling about 4xbook value, ROA=21 +, ROE=33, not bad. Also I heard they recently got a multi million dollar contract from HP. Anyway,I will put it on my 'Watch List', could be interesting.

MMC Networks- (NASDAQ-MMCN)
CEO-Prabhat Dubey

Put this one on your watch-list, new IPO came public end of 97 for $11.00 now trading for around $22.00. Float is thin at a few million shares, but shares outstanding is some 20+ million. The 'float' is thin because 'insiders' have restrictions on selling the stock until end of April.98 (i believe), so the price may experience downward pressure at this time as I am sure 'insiders' will cash in and take some profit. Anyway I don't know much about the company yet,but this one is on my 'Watch List' as well, I just happened by an article on the CEO Prabhat Dubey last month and that is how I came to know about the company.

Here is the article in case you want to know more about the CEO.

New thread- Indian Coffee House. You all are invited.

Sam and thread:

I have started a new thread called Indian Coffee House to discuss various matters that pertains to India as I thought I have been taking too much bandwidth here with the Indian stuff which you may or may not be interested in. So I am inviting y'all to come and have a cup of 'coffee' there at your leisure.
