Thank you for the kind welcome back, James. A few days away from this place really gets you behind on the posts though, so your delay was not just considerate, but effective. I loved your treatment of the two antagonists and read ed's response to you, which was gratifyingly good-natured and funny. That may be one conflict that manages to retrieve its sense of humor. Kudos to you for helping them keep perspective.

Once humor is lost, all is. I fear that has happened at Ask God-which I never read, but did today--(perhaps it never had any? Although I've always thought Shalom had a dry, quiet wit). I find it so hard to believe anyone would seriously accept that Janice is a blood-drinking vampire, no matter how real she makes it sound. (Sorry, J. I don't mean to diminish your very excellent routine.) And what a treat Feelings is again now that humor has been restored!

George Orwell said, The aim of a joke is not to degrade the human being but to remind him that he is already degraded. A fine line-both to read and to walk.
