As a final report on CMI, I spoke to someone at the company today. He said the outstanding convertible debentures were from "long ago", and there haven't been any conversions to speak of recently.

He blamed CMI's poor stock performance during the last 6 months on the sector, and even mentioned a Piper Jaffrey report he got this morning that showed that CMI has outperformed the sector. I suspect that depends on the time frame of the report. He blamed the most recent weakness to nervousness associated with the delay of the Q4 earnings release. I know it has *me* nervous - I hate companies that delay their earnings, and make no releases as to the reasons for the delay.
