I don't know the specific answer to your question, but I do know that Wal-mart's deals and Sam's deals are entirely separate from each other.

With several large chain stores HDST has a pilot program to test the new product and customers response to the product. Most companies use this policy to test sell a product before committing to introducing the new product throughout chain.
Wal-Mart is using this procedure with HDST.
