O.K. Vince, Let me check with my wife first. Just kidding. I know you follow the araldica.com message board where I'm known as someone else... That brief wine distribution conversation touched on the three tier licensing system that seems to be the most effective way to distribute wine nationwide. A wine maker is licensed to sell to the wholesaler, who in turn is licensed to sell to the retailer, who then is licensed to sell to the customer, who then drinks the stuff. What I am looking into is the question of who issues the licenses...Does the producer have to be licensed in each state to sell to the wholesalers in that state? Does the Wholesaler in turn need to be licensed in each state to sell to the retailer, etc.? Do you know?
