Jim - Re: "Advantage for AMD, Cyrix and IDT is that they get their chips made on state of the art process technology.."

Of what advantage was this to Cyrix?

Has Cyrix recorded some profits lately that I haven't heard about or put out a CPU to surpass AMD's or Intel's CPUs?

As for AMD, they will get their first IBM chips in Q4 sometime.

These will be state of the art for about three more months - about the time it takes AMD to sort the wafers, assemble them, qualify the process, ship to customers and for customers to put them into PCs.

By the time those PCs reach customers, I'll wager the IBM made K6's are not state of the art - not IBM's art and not Intel's art.

And you know where that will leave AMD, Cyrix and IDT? Yep - another generation behind.
