Tokyo, you must be talking about intracavernosal injections of phentolamine alone, because it is used widely and effectively in combination with one or two other drugs. As far as phentolamine being used alone, I know of no studies concerning this, but I have heard of few case reports where it was used alone and with apparent results. These are just individual case reports. It is by no way "proven" to be effective alone.
