Chris, before this gets out of hand I would like to state my doctrinal position about Heirs according to the promise.
In Paul's writings there are phrases like "Abraham's Seed" and "Heirs according to the promise."
Christ is Abraham's seed. We are members of Christ. We do fall heir to all things in Him. Israel, to whom the promise pertained, (Romans 9:4), did not become heir, while we the members of the secret, unprophesied, body have become heirs in Christ. This, however does not nullify the promises made to the nation which is Abraham's natural seed.
We are "sealed" with the Holy Spiritof promise and made partakers of His <ipromise in Christ, by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I hope that you and Bob will see my position clearer by this statement.
In Christ and brotherhood,
James
