David,

I wish you would not over expect from the Net+Arm, from the product specification, there were products out there for a long time, embedded system was nothing new to the market. To use a simple term, the Net+Arm is a kind of replacement of Hitachi S3 chip plus Window CE. According to the press release, Net+Arm's price is much cheaper than its competitor ($32 compared to $60 which includes WinCE and Hitachi Chip).

But any investor should have a reasonable doubt here, Osicom license a RTOS (real time operating system ) from Integrated Systems Inc (competitor of Win CE) and the chip will be supplied by Amtel, what is the role of Osicom here, why they can make the whole thing much cheaper?
