Allen, Re: "MWAR should use its mid-west contacts and labor to become a first-rate, highly profitable company providing services for the development of embedded systems". I suspect that the opportunity is huge.

MWAR should leverage their existing skills into areas that offer easier revenue opportunities and avoid frittering away limited resources on grandiose schemes to compete head-to-head in the RTOS market. The tone of MWAR's most recent press release is that of a noisy lightweight, which is their destiny if they continue on the present course. MWAR should get over the delusion as quickly as possible and focus upon maximizing the return on their investment.

MWAR could setup an applications group as a first step toward reshaping their business model. The OS and applications groups within MWAR should be empowered to independently pursue market opportunities. The market would then show MWAR in which direction the future lies. With MWAR reorganized into two divisions, they could then easily be further split apart, into separate companies as the need or opportunity arose.

Frank

PS. Thanks for discussing the complexities of the RTOS market. Your post clicked on the light.
