Glenn - Re: " this was directed at the K6 system that Doug was considering. If this is so, could you please explain why you believe this is an inferior piece of merchandise."

Because the item had been RETURNED - that is SOLD and the buyer brought it back.

Re: "...a 333 PII system with a "big" hd and "lots" of ram. If this is so, about how much would that run."

I think Dell is selling these systems WITH a monitor for $2200 - $2300. I'm sure you can get better prices elsewhere.

Re: "...4900 dollars on a drum sander. This is about 20% of the average americans annual income. For the sake of all reading these posts, would you be so kind as to give us an idea of your income. "

Glenn - Have you ever bought a new car for more than $4900? There are about 15 million NEW cars sold in the US every year and I'll wager that 99.99% cost more than $4900. Do you expect all 15 million buyers to provide you with details of their annual income?

If I had bought a $500 dollar sander you could argue that it cost more than the wages of 90% or 95% of the population of mainland China.

Good things almost always cost more than cheap things. Generally, the "gooder" they are, the more they cost. If you want "good", you pay for "good" - even if it is a "hardship" purchase!
