OT - thread may want to take a look at Olicom - OLCMF.

Our SS7 discussions had led me to the article Pat posted earlier about XCOM who is selling SS7 technology to Ascend (which appears to need
it!). XCOM was bought out by Olicom. Olicom's focus is on the legacy
token-ring market. This is a huge market, although I don't have the number of seats right at hand. ATM is the upgrade vehicle of choice unless you want to do a forklift upgrade to ethernet. For a lot of reasons (Y2k, etc), there is not huge amounts of money around for big IS shops to be pulling new cable. ATM gives you a lot of bang for the buck in this market. Company also makes some network cards and has deals with Cisco and HP.

PSR is around 1.5 with growing revenues. I don't really have any numbers on the value of the XCOM side of the business, however, as Pat stated, CISCO is hiring SS7 expertise, Ascend is buying it as well.

Regards, bp
