Illustra was a terrible product. They have a lot of nerve accusing
IFMX of ripping THEM off ... it was the other way around. Mike
Stonebraker is one of the great snake oil salespeople. He and his
people were very bright and visionary, but also very arrogant. The
Illustra product had serious performance problems (based on the old
Ingres storage manager) and terrible memory leak bugs. Ingres also
had a lot of technical problems.
