Captain Nemo,

Dont know anything about PEAFF...dont follow it, dont care.

Was that a market order you placed? If so, NEVER, EVER....place a market order and NEVER, EVER before the bell. You will get eaten alive by the MM.

Have a great day!!

Brown & Company now has online trading as well as voice. Their commissions are the same no matter whether you place the order online or voice. I've used them for a few years, am a demanding customer, and have been satisfied with their quick, efficient, courteous, service. They have the lowest margin rates of any firm I've seen. (If anyone knows better rates, let me know, please.) They charge $5 for market and $10 for limit orders on shares through a quantity of 5,000 per order. I bought PEAFF on line there this morning. They promptly phone to confirm executions. They give commission rebates for volume. They do options at reasonable rates. Their online quotes include options and BB stocks. They are new online and will be enhancing, (size isn't shown on the quotes yet), but the site is fast. I recommend them without qualification. I cannot get a quote on PEAFF on the site, but the brokers will call to the floor for an accurate quote. Their phone system is set up so that if there's a wait your call is routed to any of their offices in any state, so you don't have to wait long for a phone response. Things work well there.

I have tried a few of the other firms, have an active account at Waterhouse, which I like, also. But I have found serious flaws with Ameritrade and Web Street, while Brown & Co passes all my important tests. Ameritrade doesn't even know if a check has been sent out to you, and can't find out! Absolutely nothing works at Ameritrade. No one should use them. Web Street works, but has serious flaws and problems.

I didn't try to buy PEAFF through Waterhouse, but I'd think I could have bought it on line there, too, as I did Brown & Co. Their advantage is they provide margin on marginable stocks over 4 and a fraction, while Brown provides margin on marginable sotcks over 5 something. They're nice to work with, but they do charge a premium for voice orders unless their Web site is down. Waterhouse has 24 hour service.
