It looks to me like most issues opened at or near their highs and then succumbed to some profit taking. As the OSX continues to slip a bit, I expect a few more people to get nervous and take profits. The open definitely was not the time for anyone to buy today (or most other days, for that matter). But for investment purposes, anyone who bought at the open should be patient. In a few months, it won't matter as much whether we bought a half point higher or lower.

I am one of the unfortunate ones who bought at the opening. But what I bought were at the money calls for the XOI index. :< It's been about 3 hours now, and my principal has vanished to 40% of original investment. These expire in April. Is this profit taking or a dream come true for short sellers? Are rumours that Iran won't take cuts in production true - is that the fear that's causing the selling?
