Van,

Can I take that also as meaning closing above 24 would indicate invalidation for todays shorts?

Regards,

Kman

Sounds about right but I'm a Day Trader and will probably be out by the close. There will be plenty of opportunities to short this stock and plenty of other stocks to trade if this one isn't ready.

Van; I don't see you guys talking about the dividend date..and
it's effect or any maybe last minute surprise..
I would say good luck, but I wouldn't mean it..but being you
have been a nice short and in the sprit of SI fellowship
I will say be careful, and ask your broker about any
extra charges that may or may not happen to your account
if your short on the 27th. ( they are not all alike..and
I won't say there is one drop of truth to it..likley not
but if CPQ were to pull a last minute annoncement in respect
to the dividend I would not want to be on the wrong side of
that..and for sure I don't see a cut in the dividend..in fact
they have reason to reward the longs at this point, to
offset and frustrate the speculators that jumped into DEC
in order to exploit the deal.
Remember ADBE did it last year, and the shorts got creamed,
ADBE gave them some notice, but don't count on CPQ being as
nice.
Jim
PS. you do know that shorts have to pay the dividend what ever
it is or becomes on the ex date. ? and they do not have to pre
anounce..
