Patroller,
As far as I know, Seagate does not have a new product to compete with the 7000. And in any case, I cannot see a return to $6-8 for this stock. They have about $5 in cash alone. Are you saying that a company which sold more desktop drives than any other in the past year is essentially worth little more than the cash they have in the bank? Now, I know that drives are out of favor, but surely that is taking things to an extreme!
