JBuilder Client/Server Suite from Borland International merits an honorable mention. Like PowerJ, the program offers a capable development environment and lots of power to create Java applications. But JBuilder falls just short of being the complete package PowerJ is because of its weaker JavaBean creation tools, its lesser extensibility, and its requirement of more Java knowledge on the part of the developer. But today, we have JBuilder C/S 2, which does have the extensibility as Sybase PowerJ Enterprise 2.1 : NEW! Complete support for the latest Java standards including JDK1.2, JavaBeans, JFC/Swing, JDBC, RMI, Serialization, Customizers, JARs, JNI, and more JBuilder C/S also has strong Javabean development tools. The only thing I did not see from the press release is whether JBuilder C/S 2 can debug applet within a browser, which is convenient for applet development. The Borland Deployment Server is great, I need it. Let's order it! On the other way, the stock price is dispointing. Maybe sb does not want the price to go up now?
