DAve I guess it just means they are not selling the NC itself ... it's to be used as a reference as how the PSC1000 can be applied.....

The reference specs are available for download if you have Adobe Acrobat

Dave,

There's an 'official' Network Computer Reference Profile, which was started by Oracle, Netscape, IBM, Sun & Apple in May 96. It was a bunch of non-controversial things an NC should include, such as no hard drive, a mouse, keyboard, ability to display HTML & run Java etc etc.

It's since morphed into the Network Computer Profile and is being fed through through the Open Group for branding & testing.

However, PTSC is using the term (platform) generically for a board that could be the basis for an NC, but it has no intention of selling or building NCs - at least not the last time I spoke to them. It's a way for the company to demonstrate the PSC1000 in an NC environment.

Hope this helps.

Nick Patience
