Did anyone see that the European commission grants regulatory approval to acquisition of DEC. Reuters , saw it on Yahoo. GO CPQ PEP

Satyr; The dividend would not influence me say to go long or short for that matter..I'm not that big a player..but what about the big player who is short agianst the box.. this being the guy who holds the stock..he don't have to borrow it ( except from himself ) , it can't get called in.. and he don't need to worry with a stop loss..he shorted to lock in profits..( not wanting to take them at the time ).. he too is a trader,..he doesn't just go in or out..he goes from long to short in one swoop..and from short to long in one swoop..so he is never on the side lines he is short or he is long..now that dividend is just a tiny thing but it is a known factor he don't know about the 1/32..and does not have any controal over that..but he can controal that other.. so he ponders it's a tiny bird but it's a bird..I know I can get if I cover or miss if I don't..maybe he has been thinking about covering anyway.. and so he looks at the news and watches the stock..and tries to guess what the other shorts will do..it opens ticking up, like usual, brokers grabing stop losses..it drops back and he watches and if it starts back up..he says the hell with it if I don't somebody else will..I know that 50K aint much but it'l pay the commissions it's the only thing I seem to be able to controal...so he sets his target nods his head and says cover what ever you can below so and so..we will go back long at least part way. All other things equall.. it's the only thing he can controal. A lot will depend on the guy..does he think the rout is over or not..but if he does that tiny bird may be just the hair that pulls his trigger..who knows , I sure don't I'm in wait and see..but already I have decided to maybe sell calls that day..if it just don't tick down by then..maybe he feels this too..and says you know if they sell calls on this uptick.. they are locked in ..for however long..and what the heck.. and I done made from 36 to here.. It's the only thing I can really controal..and how do I tell my boss..if this thing does go up..that I missed both that and the dividend, I can hear him now damm didn't you know that would have paid the commissions bad enough to give back my profit but to give that up too..it's the only known factor..the only for sure bird in the hand..easy to miss the bottom..looks like I done did that..but what excuse do I have to miss this.. all things equal tiny as it is I don't have an excuse to miss it got to cover sooner or later any way :-) ------------------------ No more shares than are short on CPQ..my guess is half of them are by fund managers who have had this stock for several years and have shorted before against the box, and already this one profitable..they trade but not like the daytrader..or the broker..my guess the brokers may have covered most of theirs early today..before noon, that squirt from 11 to 12. I don't know, I wonder if we will get that early morning spike tomorrow..the one that seems to say lets get them buy stops.. and short to them..if we dont get that..well waht will they do ? Jim
