It means there are more buyers than seller, That is why the stock is moving higher

Harold-
Yes, it does make one believe that there are more buyers than sellers, but it can be deceiving. I recently saw a stock with 100 (really 10,000) on the bid at 11 3/8 and 5 on the ask at 11 7/16, so I went in and took out the ask. Next thing I noticed was 500 on the ask at 11 1/2, and shortly thereafter most of them moved down to 7/16. A small quantity on the ask can sometimes be a smokescreen.
