From my recent communications with BAAT here is some details as to the progress being made at BAAT. Again, much is happening as we speak but there is much work to be done. Lets be prudent and practical with this company, it really looks like they have some very smart people working for them. 1. BAAT is in the process of gathering the technical data for power, emmissions, and fuel economy. They will post the results in about 4-6 weeks before they post the info on their web site. 2. BAAT has or is about to provide the Ford Contour to UCal-Riverside. They will first do the baseline testing and then return the car to Bat for Pulse conversion, to retest for comparison. They will also do the same for Geo Metro. All the tests will be monitored by Ford but Ford will not be officially involved unless they like the results. All this will probably take some time, mostly depending on the coordination required amongst all involved. 3. The Geo Metro used in last months test gave 49MPG using gas engine in identical runs i.e. 40 MPH on the track. The diesel engine normally gives additional 15-20% or 60MPG. Thus, the fuel efficiency obtained from Pulse engine increased by about 55% (93-60/60). 4. Regarding SKODA ELCAR, Skoda is shipping a standard Skoda car to BAAT for engine modification. Tests will be performed and then Skoda will proceed with product entry and income discussions. Timeframe unknown at this time. There are other details but I rather not mention them yet for several reasons. It will be better to wait for proper time so there are no false expectations.
