Well David, it seems to me, that there is a diurnal pattern to the slow down, at least as I have experienced it and begun to make note of it. This isn't the first day by any means that I have gotten time outs, and I am sensing that around 5:00pm est is when I have had persistent problems, from 10 minutes to as long as an hour. I was asking the question earlier, really to find out if others have observed the same thing around 5:00pm. I have seen this problem with IBM and Prodigy now at around 5:00pm.

If there was a traffic indicator from SI it would be a good diagnostic data point to judge if the problem was at the inbound connection port there at SI, or a regional, or even local ISP pop issue. But from here in Boston it "feels" like overloading there, especially since I have even seen 503 errors pop up during those times, but only occasionally.
