PixTech Announces New President; Dieter Mezger,
Electronics Industry Veteran, Joins Effective Today

SANTA CLARA, Calif., and ROUSSET, France, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- PixTech, Inc. (Nasdaq; Easdaq: PIXT) today announced Dieter Mezger, a 30-year electronics industry veteran, will join the Company as President, effective today. Operating from PixTech's U.S.office in Santa Clara, California, Mezger will focus on optimizing all day-to-day operations including manufacturing, marketing and finance, and on representing PixTech within the FED alliance. Mezger will report to Jean-Luc Grand-Clement, whom he replaced as President, and who remains PixTech's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Jean-Luc Grand Clement stated, ''Dieter Mezger brings PixTech a wealth of management, marketing, sales, operations and financial experience. He has the necessary leadership strength to help PixTech evolve to the next level as a FED manufacturing and marketing company. Since 1990, Mezger has been President of Compass Design Automation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of VLSI Technology, Inc., which develops and markets CAD software tools for IC design. In 1984, Mezger established VLSI's European presence in Munich, building the European marketing and sales organizations, Design-Centers, R&D operations, as well as its finance and human resources departments. Mezger simultaneously built VLSI's wireless and GSM businesses. Prior to joining VLSI, Mezger's career included fifteen years with Texas Instruments, where he rose to the position of Manager, Sales and Marketing, Europe. He holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Stuttgart.
