I believe MPOA was approved by the forum last year, so it is an actual standard, not just a proposed one. As the name implies, it is a way of carrying IP traffic over ATM. I think NN hopes it will allow them to extend ATM further into the enterprise than existing approaches like LANE will allow, but most opinions are that the market isn't rushing to adopt it.
