Dulane, getting the stock certificates will ensure that I don't fall prey to any computer glitches, although I agree that the problem would get ironed out eventually. What I'm wondering is whether people will panic out of the market prior to year 2000. It's amazing how many panic filled articles are out here on the Web...the articles and links seem boundless. I believe that there will be problems too, but that they will eventually be overcome. I also believe that there's a possibility of people selling their stocks all together out of fear. The 700 club today was really getting down right scary today with their scenarios, stock markets crashing, missiles going off, all sorts of crap, and there are millions upon millions of shareholders being exposed to this. As to cashing in my CDs...I'm considering it. Computer glitches will get fixed, but the delay could be inconvenient...I'll be talking with my banks before I do that, though.
