A word on the farce called THE OSCARS: Anyone who can pass over The Apostle.. and Robert Duvall in the staring roll for Jack Nicolson....loses my respect. Helen Hunt winning over Helena Bonham Carter is the last straw.. The OSCARS is not a forum for the most extraordinary, awe-inspiring, moving performances but just a 'popularity contest'.. like choosing Metallica for best orchestral group over the London Symphony. Only saving face is the award for Robin Williams.. In my opinion the movies, Good Will Hunting and The Apostle should have won more awards over the huge budget, interesting but uninspiring performances in "Titanic"...
