Loki, guess I'm in obtuse mode tonight. Must be all those Oscars flashing in my peripheral vision. Those nuclear bombs could get pesky but they probably have imbedded chips that will fizzle out. Nonetheless, wouldn't want one landing on the roof of my apartment building. Now I'm worried after visiting the DMG site. Maybe I should get all my stock certificates and hide them under the floor boards. But probably won't be able to find them after the lights go out. dulane

Loki,
Quite a site; catch this quote by Yardeni (testimony to congress) as of 11/4/97!

"I have spent the past six months collecting as much information as possible on Y2K. Based on what I know so far, I believe
there is a 40% risk of a worldwide recession that will last at least 12 months starting in January 2000, and it could be as severe
as the 1973-74 global recession. That severe downturn was caused by the OPEC oil crisis, which is a useful analogy for
thinking about the potential economic consequences of Y2K. Just as oil is a vital resource for our global economy, so is
information. If the supply of information is disrupted, many economic activities will be impaired, if not entirely halted. "

Perhaps Steven Spielburg should rush his new movie "Year 2000 Disaster!" into the theaters as soon as possible. But then I wonder if we can throw away all the code that doesn't work and maybe start from scratch? Who would have predicted a revolution in the streets caused by the changing of the century? Nostradamas? Or Abbie Hoffman?
