The intended meaning of the music is always known to the composer, but can frequently be misinterpreted by the listener if he doesn't listen well. To listen perceptively is an art in itself. The true listener/artist is one who doesn't dissect, or project, but hears only what is there without attaching deeper meanings, who enjoys the sensuous beauty of the sounds alone. Then and only then, once that is understood, can the listener delve further.
